Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) setting within a children's hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Scheduled to work every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
- Float requirement to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
- Makeup shift required within the same pay period for any call out or absence
Requirements
- Active RN license (OH or Compact) in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of CVPICU or PICU experience required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric hospital experience required
- 2 supervisory references required, at least one from a manager/supervisor-titled reference
- Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Skilled in cardiovascular care including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and continuous sedation
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization care
- Experience with ECMO, CRRT, and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD) preferred
- Must be prepared to float to different units as a point of emphasis for this facility
- Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted for this role
