Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 1:4 patient ratios and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

Work in the Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC), providing urgent care for cancer patients and other acute medical concerns
General Emergency Department setting with combined adult/pediatric population
Maintains 1:4 patient ratios
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
36 hours of orientation provided
Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

Active CA RN license required in hand upon consideration, no pending licenses or EMSA accepted
BSN required
Minimum 3 years of experience in a general ER setting required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Chemo certification required in hand, no pending certifications accepted
Experience required with blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, IV starts and maintenance, emergency medications, IV insulin protocols, and IV vasopressors
Experience required with procedural sedation administration/monitoring, intubation assistance/management, and chest tube insertion/management
Experience managing CVA, spinal cord injury, abdominal pain, infection, seizures, and urinary tract infections
Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring with 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide timely assessment and treatment for patients with urgent medical concerns related to cancer care or other health conditions
Seafoam green scrubs required (not provided)
Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
Former employees of the facility will not be considered for this position
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travel pairs allowed
No restrictive RTO rules
Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 75-mile radius
