Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a critical access, Magnet-designated hospital requiring an active IL license and IV starting experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a 25-bed critical access, Magnet hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for all shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Float between 2 Med Surg units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Block schedule requests may be discussed with the manager

Requirements

• Active IL RN license or in application process with an ETA to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg setting including IV therapy, wound care, and monitoring of various conditions
• Scrub color: any solid color
• Parking permit required at no cost; provided during orientation
• Floating required for all travelers, including to nearby affiliate facilities
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 non-holiday RTO days may be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
