Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit float position requiring NC or compact RN license and one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• Patient ratios generally range from 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU, and up to 1:5 on acute care units
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week over 3 days per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 48-hour contracts approved

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred, or willingness to orient to charge role

Additional Information

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Performs bedside point of care testing as required
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
• Participates in unit goal setting and performance improvement activities
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
