Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and 2 years of recent Adult ICU experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position floating between Critical Care and Intermediate Care units based on facility needs
• Medical ICU with approximately 13 beds; Intermediate Care unit has approximately 21 beds
• Critical Care ratio is 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, 36-48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Block scheduling accommodated

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license required
• ASN accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• 2 years of recent Adult ICU experience required
• Must independently manage critically ill patients with minimal orientation
• Strong critical care skills required including cardiac rhythm/12-lead EKG interpretation, Code/Rapid Response, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, sedation, and insulin/heparin infusions
• Experience with arterial and central line management required
• Comfortable managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow oxygen, ABGs, and airway/suctioning required
• Experience with stroke/NIHSS, sepsis/septic shock, DKA, chest tube management, and blood product administration required
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 valid professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Independently manage critically ill patients across Critical Care and Intermediate Care units
• Navy blue scrubs required
• PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required, which may involve travel over 100 miles and processing time of 2-4 weeks
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance, with a maximum of 3 attempts
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• One pre-approved RTO request permitted per contract; all time off must be submitted with the offer
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• 12-week assignment length
