Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and strong neuro and cardiac skills in a Level 3 trauma acute care setting.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Med Surg unit with telemetry capability on all beds
• Heavy telemetry patient population with strong neuro and cardiac care needs
• Cares for adult patients; pediatric patients are assigned to permanent staff only
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, adjusted based on acuity
• 12-hour night shifts
• Floating required to all Med Surg units and ICU to cover overflow patients
• Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on staff
• Uses Sunrise Allscripts EMR

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Level 3 trauma acute care setting
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs may be any color except all black
• Scrubs are not provided
