Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Columbus, OH where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current Ohio state respiratory care license in good standing.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Minimum one year of recent clinical experience as an RRT, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical ventilators and providing invasive and non-invasive ventilation management.
- Competence with arterial blood gas collection and interpretation, oximetry and capnography monitoring, and basic arrhythmia recognition/12-lead ECG.
- Experience performing airway management including endotracheal intubation and tracheostomy care.
- Ability to perform respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopy assistance, chest tube management, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function testing, and pleural drainage management.
- Ability to document treatments and communicate clinical findings to physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Preferred: ACLS certification and prior experience in a trauma or critical care unit.
