Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local healthcare provider where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current state license in good standing with the State License Board (Missouri license required).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- One year experience as an RRT in an acute care hospital setting preferred; experience with ventilator management, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and handling of arterial blood gas sampling required.
- Demonstrated experience performing endotracheal tube insertion and removal, tracheostomy care, suctioning techniques, and chest physiotherapy in an acute care environment.
- Competency with cardiopulmonary monitoring including pulse oximetry and capnography, 12-lead EKG acquisition and basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing (NIF, VC, etc.).
- BLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to operate, set up, and perform self-test on a variety of mechanical ventilators and ancillary respiratory equipment. Experience with ventilator alarm management and preventive maintenance procedures preferred.
- Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary rounds and physician interaction. Documentation competency for respiratory care records and charge capture required.

- Required scope of practice: intensive respiratory care including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, arterial puncture, bronchoscopy assistance, chest tube and PleurX management, and patient transport.
