Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in St. Louis, MO where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current Missouri state license in good standing with the State License Board.
- Registry as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- One year experience as an RRT, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators and providing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support.
- Competence with arterial puncture, oximetry, capnography, 12-lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing.
- Ability to perform airway management including suctioning, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion via free-hand or video laryngoscope techniques.
- Ability to assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and PleurX drainage when indicated.
- Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
- Client preference: must be available to work a block of Fridays as part of the schedule.
- Preferred: ACLS certification and prior experience in trauma or critical care environments.
