Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Omaha, NE where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
- One year experience as an RRT.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required. CRT acceptable where specified by client; RRT preferred.
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
- Experience across the lifespan: neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations required. Preferred experience with NRP and PALS.
- Clinical skills required: bedside bronchoscopy assistance, bedside spirometry, and EKG monitoring.
- Familiarity with ventilator and noninvasive equipment: Drager, Servo I, Carefusion ventilators; Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T BiPAP; Airvo2 high-flow systems preferred.
- Ability to float to different inpatient areas throughout the hospital in the RT capacity.
- Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal to confirm radius eligibility.
- Orientation: ability to complete 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation (12-hour shifts) and an additional 12 hours of orientation as indicated.
- Client requires recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience.
- Candidates must not be current full time, part time, or PRN employees of facilities associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity) within a 50-mile radius.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift name: Nights.
- Shift pattern: 12-hour night shifts, team scheduling, typically 7p–7a (3x12 night rotation noted by client).
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: Nights every other weekend as scheduled.
- Holiday requirement: Rotate with permanent staff.
- Orientation: 3 unit-specific 12-hour shifts plus 12 orientation hours.
- Floating: Traveler will float to different inpatient areas as needed.
- Patient population: All ages, neonates through geriatrics, covering inpatient areas across the hospital.
