Description
Join our team as an Echo Ultrasound Tech / Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist and perform diagnostic echocardiography using advanced ultrasound systems to produce detailed cardiac images for clinical interpretation. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, prepare patients for echocardiographic procedures, and document findings in the electronic medical record.
Minimum Requirements:
- ARDMS (ARDMA/ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in Cardiac Sonography. ARDMA certified in Cardiac or CCI required by client.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer required. Client requires 2 years of experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care. BLS preferred upon hire and must be obtained from an approved source prior to direct patient care.
- Experience performing Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), and Cardiac Stress testing.
- Experience working with Philips EPIQ ultrasound systems.
- Experience with inpatient cardiac studies, including chest pain and congestive heart failure workups, and ability to manage a daily caseload of approximately 7–8 full studies.
- Ability to document preliminary reports and critical findings in the hospital electronic medical record in accordance with department policy.
- On-call availability as required by the facility; candidate must be willing to participate in call coverage.
- Associates degree in an applied health science field with concentration in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or related study preferred.
- Preferred: prior experience administering imaging enhancement agents and familiarity with hospital protocols for contrast administration.

- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift name: Days.
- Typical weekly hours: 36 hours per week.
- Shift pattern: Four 9-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
- Typical shift hours: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Call coverage: Approximately 5 to 6 days per month. Call hours weekdays 4:30 PM to 6:30 AM; weekends 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Daily caseload: Approximately 7–8 full case studies per day.
- Equipment: Philips EPIQ system.

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams to evaluate cardiac anatomy and function. Responsibilities include performing high-quality TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiography per protocol, preparing patients for procedures, administering imaging enhancement agents per policy, communicating with referring physicians when exam orders require clarification, and documenting results and critical findings in the electronic medical record. The role requires adherence to safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards and participation in on-call rotations.
