Jackson HealthPros is thrilled to welcome an experienced MRI Tech to our team to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, and expertly operate MRI scanners to create diagnostic images.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Required: ARRT MR and prior experience with GE MRI systems and GE imaging workflows.
- Required: Minimum 1 year of experience in an MRI department, hospital setting preferred.
- Required: Ability to start IVs and administer MR contrast agents per facility protocol.
- Required: Familiarity with Epic EHR and PACS (Change/GE preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred upon hire and required prior to direct patient care.
- Experience with closed MRI systems and 1.5T GE magnets preferred.
Assignment Details
- Facility Type: Hospital.
- Shift Name: Days.
- Scheduled shifts include Wednesday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (imaging lab) with Wednesday call 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Thursday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (imaging lab), and Friday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM.
- Call requirements include weekend call periods. Specific call dates include coverage for designated weekends as scheduled.
- Floating: May be required to work across the hospital and outpatient imaging center locations.
- Average daily caseload: approximately 22 exams per day.

Standard Job Description
The MRI Tech is responsible for daily modality operations. They perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) according to established protocols and work closely under the direction of radiologists and other physicians. Essential functions include knowledge of MRI workflows, procedures, operation, and safety. The MRI Tech confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data, selects appropriate MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters per protocol, contributes to training and education of new staff, and assists in oversight of MRI students. The role provides direct patient care and instruction before, during, and after procedures, performs IV injections and administers contrast agents, troubleshoots equipment issues in the absence of service engineers, and reports malfunctions to radiology maintenance or supervisor.
