Jackson HealthPros is thrilled to welcome an experienced MRI Technologist to support MRI services in Springfield, OH. The MRI Technologist will accurately follow physician scanning instructions, prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, and operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images according to established protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
• ARRT MR required (client specific).
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required; hospital MRI department experience preferred.
• Experience with GE MRI systems and 1.5T GE magnets required (client specific).
• Experience performing IV starts and administering MRI contrast agents required (client specific).
• Experience with Epic EHR and PACS preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred upon hire and required prior to direct patient care.
• Associate degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred.

Assignment Details

• Facility Type: Hospital
• Duration: 16 week travel assignment
• Shift Name: Days
• Scheduled Shift Days: Wednesday 6:30 AM–7:00 PM; Thursday 6:30 AM–7:00 PM; Friday 6:30 AM–7:00 PM (imaging lab on Friday)
• On-call Requirements: Call coverage Fridays 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and designated weekend call shifts (example weekends include specific dates noted by client)
• Average daily caseload: approximately 22 exams
• Modality details: Two MRI sites (hospital and outpatient center); closed MRI; GE MR machines; Epic and GE PACS.

Standard Job Description:

The MRI Technologist is responsible for daily modality operations and performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging according to established protocols. The technologist works under the direction of the Radiologist and other physicians. Essential duties include knowledge of MRI workflows, procedures, operation, and safety principles to minimize risk to patients and staff. The technologist confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data, selects appropriate MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters, contributes to training new staff and students, provides direct patient care and instructions, performs IV injections and administers MRI contrast agents, and troubleshoots equipment in the absence of service personnel while reporting malfunctions to radiology maintenance or supervisors.
