What You'll Need:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program

• AART Certification in Radiation Therapy

• Valid Ohio Radiation Therapy license

• BLS certification

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist

• Experience with CT/Sim and conventional simulation, treatment delivery, and daily chart reviews

• Competency with QA procedures and documentation

• Ability to work collaboratively with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses and support staff

• Must be able to perform duties with or without accommodations

Minimum Requirements (Client Specific)

• Required: AART certification

• Required: Ohio Radiology/Radiation Therapy license

• Required: BLS certification

• Required: Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience

• Preferred: Elekta system experience

• Preferred: HDR brachytherapy experience

• Preferred: Experience with IMPAC, PortalVision/Viewstation, mold room, basic dose calculations, and diagnostic CT assistance

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital (Cancer Center outpatient setting)
• Shift: Days
• Typical shift hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Occasional morning QA shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• No call. No weekends.
• Travel assignment duration: 13 weeks
• May accept local candidates (local fee may apply)

Assignment Summary and Key Responsibilities:

The Radiation Therapist administers prescribed ionizing radiation as part of an interdisciplinary oncology team. Responsibilities include tumor localization, participation in treatment planning, accurate patient positioning and immobilization, treatment delivery, and verification of treatment console settings. Maintain accuracy and safety by performing QA procedures, reviewing portal films, checking weekly charts, and documenting diagnostic and treatment data. Recognize and resolve equipment problems and treatment discrepancies. Provide patient education on skin care and self-care. Contact physicians as needed for side effects or treatment concerns. Maintain credentials and participate in required education. Perform other duties as required to ensure efficient center operation.
