We’re hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Chicago, IL where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current Illinois state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Minimum one year recent experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting preferred; experience with mechanical ventilators and invasive/non-invasive ventilation required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required.
• Demonstrated competence with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, oximetry and capnography monitoring.
• Experience performing and interpreting 12-lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition preferred.
• Experience with airway management including endotracheal intubation, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and use of video laryngoscope preferred.
• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and pulmonary function testing preferred.
• Ability to operate, set up, troubleshoot, and monitor various ventilators and respiratory equipment; perform preventative maintenance and document equipment function.
• Strong documentation skills for respiratory records and electronic charting.
• Must be able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
