Description
We’re excited to announce an opening for an experienced OB/GYN Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist. You will perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds to assist physicians in diagnostic decision-making while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- ARDMS certification in OB/GYN required.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine / high-risk OB sonography required. (Client specifies minimum 2 years MFM experience; 3 years of relevant high-risk OB/GYN experience is preferred.)
- BLS certification required.
- Experience performing detailed fetal anatomy scans, growth scans, biophysical profiles (BPPs), and Doppler studies in a high-risk obstetrics environment.
- Experience operating GE ultrasound systems preferred.
- Ability to assist with ultrasound-guided procedures (amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling) and perform transvaginal cervical assessments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fetal and female anatomy and pathology appropriate to Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
- Current compliance with continuing medical education requirements for specialty.
- Ability to respond to emergency callback as needed.
- Preferred: Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification or FMF/NTQR certification.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Unit: Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic, supporting high-risk obstetrics.
- Shift name: Days.
- Schedule: Primarily Mon–Fri, 8-hour day shifts. Typical posted schedule is 7:45 AM–4:15 PM with a 32-hour GTE and potential scheduling up to 40 hours per week.
- Floating: May be required to float between hospital locations as needed.

Role Details and Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized high-risk obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including detailed fetal anatomy scans, growth scans, BPPs, and Doppler assessments.
- Provide surveillance of fetal well-being and transvaginal cervical assessments.
- Assist Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians during ultrasound-guided procedures, such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
- Maintain accurate records, exam logs, and complete exam billing documentation.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
- Follow AIUM and ACOG guidelines for image acquisition and documentation.
- Provide patient education and support during exams and maintain appropriate infection control practices.
Interview and Selection Process:
- Initial ITO interview followed by a manager-led second interview.
Additional Notes:
- Local candidates accepted.
- EKG exam not required.
- Position supports a fast-paced, collaborative perinatal environment serving high-risk obstetric patients.
