What You'll Need:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred. Specific job-code based qualifications apply and are detailed below in Minimum Requirements.
• ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist where applicable or equivalent credential per job code.
• Minimum recent Cath Lab or interventional experience as specified by job code and position level. See Minimum Requirements for details.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for applicable job codes.
• State licensure when required by Massachusetts regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (Job Code 8147): Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or Associate degree plus a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab. Must hold BLS and ACLS. IABP course and RCIS certification required/preferred per role.
• Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist EP (Job Code 8153): Five years recent EP experience within the past five years, or any two of the following: Cardiac Interventional (CI), Vascular Interventional (VI), or RCIS. BLS, ACLS, and IABP course required.
• Special Procedures Tech I (Job Code 8150): High school graduate or GED. Minimum two years post-technical school radiology experience or six months recent Special Procedures experience. Graduate of JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license. BLS and ACLS required. Basic arrhythmia competency required within 12 months of hire.
• Special Procedures Tech II (Job Code 8151 & 8152): All Tech I qualifications plus either RCIS/CI/VI certification or three years recent Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience (8151), or completion of EP training program (8152). BLS and ACLS required.
• Special Procedures Tech III (Job Code 8153): All Tech I qualifications plus five years recent EP experience within the past five years, or two of the following: CI, VI, RCIS, or EP training program completion. BLS and ACLS required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, operate interventional equipment, and perform sterile technique and equipment maintenance.
• Preferred: experience with endovascular, peripheral interventions, embolization, IVC filter placement, dialysis access procedures, lytic therapy, PICC/Quinton catheter procedures, and non-vascular procedures such as drain and G/J tube placement.

Additional Role Information

• Clinical duties include assisting physicians with scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters, preparing sterile trays, administering contrast media under physician direction, and performing routine safety checks and preventive maintenance on interventional equipment.
• Position requires patient transfer and positioning skills, patient education to reduce anxiety, and inventory management in the department.
• Electrophysiology responsibilities apply to EP-specific job codes and include management of EP program duties and ongoing EP competency.
