Description
Join the team as an Ultrasound Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) where you will operate specialized echocardiography equipment to produce diagnostic images used by physicians to diagnose and treat cardiac conditions.
Minimum Requirements:
- National certification in cardiac sonography from ARDMS (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in transthoracic echocardiography including 2D, color Doppler, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler.
- Experience performing stress and dobutamine echocardiograms and non-imaging continuous Doppler.
- Ability to identify and interpret common cardiac pathologies including wall motion abnormalities, left ventricular regional wall abnormalities, pericardial and pleural effusions, stenotic and regurgitant lesions, and basic congenital abnormalities.
- Experience reviewing clinical history, documenting and reporting preliminary results to referring physicians.
- Experience performing portable studies and mobilizing ultrasound equipment.
- Record keeping skills for test results and quality control, including use of ancillary recording devices.
- BLS Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Must be able to clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and testing rooms according to facility policies.
- Preferred: prior experience in a large tertiary or academic hospital and familiarity with electronic medical records used for cardiology imaging. Preferred items are not required.
