Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Dickinson, ND where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current North Dakota state license in good standing at time of submission. ND Respiratory Therapy License required.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) verification or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verification. RRT preferred.
- One year of respiratory therapy experience. Previous travel experience not required.
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required.
- Experience with MEDITECH charting system.
- Experience performing ABGs, EKGs, and core respiratory duties, including work across ER, inpatient, and some outpatient settings.
- Ability to work independently. Candidate may be the only RT in-house at times.
- Fit testing requirement. Clinicians with facial hair must be able to pass specified fit tests; inability to pass may result in contract cancellation.
- Radius restriction: candidate may not be employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within 50 miles.
- Preferred certifications: PALS, NRP.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, 0700-1900.
- Schedule pattern: Every 3rd weekend and holidays in rotation.
- Orientation: 1–2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation depending on experience. Orientation hours: 12.
- Patient population: All age ranges (neonates through adults).
- Clinical coverage areas: Emergency Department, inpatient units, and some outpatient.
- Respiratory equipment used: PB980, Hamilton C1, V60 BiPAP, high-flow systems.
- Hospital support: Hospitalist or intensivist in-house 24/7. Respiratory manager/supervisor not present on each shift (no supervisor on some day shifts Monday–Friday).
