We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Sierra Vista, AZ where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an RRT, including ventilator management and blood gas analysis.
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP.
• Demonstrated skills in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, ventilator set-up and management (experience with Avea, V60, PB 840, Trilogy), BiPAP/CPAP set-up and management, and suctioning/SVN administration.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record preferred.
• CODE response experience and EKG competency.
• BLS certification.
• Preferred: pediatric and neonatal respiratory experience.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital.
• Shift: Nights.
• Shift hours: 1800-0630.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• Weekend requirement: work every other weekend.
• Number of openings: 1.
• Unit profile: All hospital areas; multi-population (neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric).
• Equipment commonly used: ABL 825 blood gas analyzer, Avea and V60 ventilators, PB 840, Trilogy, Espirt, Vapotherm, MAC 5500.
• EHR: Cerner and Muse.
• Call requirements: None.

Sierra Vista is located in southeastern Arizona in the San Pedro River Valley, approximately 75 miles southeast of Tucson and near Fort Huachuca. The area offers access to Coronado National Forest and Huachuca Mountains within a 30–60 minute drive, and has desert and high-desert landscapes suitable for hiking, birding, and rock climbing. Sierra Vista provides a suburban lifestyle with local dining and cultural events, a short drive to Tombstone (historic district) for heritage tourism, and regional transit connections to Tucson for urban amenities and airport access.
