Description

We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local healthcare provider where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders


Minimum Requirements: 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program
  • Current Alabama state license in good standing with the State License Board
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Will consider Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with at least 2 years of experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a Level 3 NICU for NICU-designated role. Candidates with NICU experience must be able to work independently in a Level 3 NICU.
  • Experience with adult critical care and general adult respiratory care.
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical record preferred. EMR experience required for first-time travelers.
  • BLS and NRP required for NICU. ACLS/APLS preferred.
  • Experience with ventilators and specialty equipment including PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo, and oscillator (3100A) preferred.
  • Ground transport experience, nitric oxide administration, and transport experience preferred for NICU candidates.
  • Ability to work independently; may be the sole NICU RRT on shift.

  • Facility type: Hospital
  • Facility unit: NICU and adult patient population (therapists will work with both NICU and adult patients)
  • Shift: Days
  • Shift hours: 07:00–19:00 (12-hour shifts)
  • Schedule: 3x12
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Voluntary call
  • Orientation: 24 hours classroom and 24 hours unit orientation for travelers new to the facility or returning after 1+ year
  • Floating: May be required to float to like units/patient locations within the facility
