We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Grand Island, NE where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role includes general respiratory care, response to pre- and post-surgical patients and the emergency department, participation in rapid response and code blue events, nebulizer administration, and ventilator management. Candidates must possess the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of all age groups and work independently to provide proper patient assessment and treatment recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC required.
• Minimum 2 years recent relevant experience as an RRT preferred. If CRT credential is held, 5-7 years of experience required.
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred.
• Experience with MEDITECH charting system preferred.
• Driver’s license required at submittal to verify compliance with a 50 mile radius requirement.
• Willingness to comply with facility fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails in patient care areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hospital respiratory care, including ventilator management and emergency response.
• At least 2-3 years experience as an RRT in acute care settings preferred when CRT is not held.
• Previous experience working independently and handling rapid response and code blue situations.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: 3 x 12 hour nights.
• Orientation: 12 hours.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Weekend requirement: 1 night every other weekend.
• Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within the client system.
• Cancellation policy: Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
