We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Jackson, TN. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role includes operating ventilators and airway equipment, performing respiratory procedures, monitoring and documenting patient response, and collaborating with physicians and care teams.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• One year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification.
• Experience operating and monitoring mechanical ventilators and performing invasive and non-invasive ventilation management.
• Ability to perform arterial puncture and blood gas analysis according to policy.
• Competence in airway management including endotracheal tube insertion and tracheostomy care.
• Experience with cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing and capnography monitoring preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital or critical care environment preferred.

Assignment Details

• Night shift, 3x12 schedule.

Impacting Patient Care

As a traveling Respiratory Therapist, you will provide intensive respiratory care, perform treatments prescribed by physicians, assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube management, and maintain accurate treatment documentation. You will monitor ventilatory equipment, conduct pulmonary function studies, and communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoffs.
