Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required

• Must be licensed or able to obtain a New York Radiation Therapist license during onboarding

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist

• Experience with Varian TrueBeam and Varian 21iX preferred

• Experience entering and maintaining patient treatment parameters in an electronic medical record

• Knowledge of NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO radiation safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a hospital-based radiation oncology setting

• Demonstrated ability to interpret computerized treatment plans and facilitate technical problem solving

Impacting Patient Care

The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation and radioactive substances under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and in accordance with New York State Department of Health standards. Responsibilities include accurately entering and maintaining patient treatment parameters, interpreting computerized treatment plans, observing patients for adverse reactions and reporting them promptly, operating high-voltage therapy equipment safely, and adhering to established radiation safety protocols. Professional conduct and patient welfare are required at all times.
