We’re hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital in Glendale, AZ. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role includes providing respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing, ventilator management, durable medical equipment operation and maintenance, patient assessment and documentation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The position may require assignment to multiple patient care areas and occasional supervision of department staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). RRT required for all new hires after October 1, 2015.
• Current state license to practice respiratory therapy in Arizona.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical respiratory therapy experience. Knowledge of clinical techniques, applications and equipment consistent with one year of experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and use proper body mechanics for patient transfers. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds as required.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
• Must meet any vendor-noted requirements and be aware of varied work schedule expectations prior to applying.

• Additional related education and/or experience.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 1800-0630.
• Night shift assignment.
• May be assigned to a variety of areas throughout the system where respiratory care is needed.
