We’re hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Saginaw, MI. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. You will provide intensive respiratory care, perform patient transport, execute physician-prescribed therapies, monitor ventilatory status, and document treatments and responses according to facility policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current Michigan state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Minimum of one year clinical experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation devices.
• Experience performing arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation.
• Ability to perform suctioning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube assistance, and chest physiotherapy according to policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing and 12-lead EKG acquisition.
• Experience in moderate complexity laboratory specimen handling and quality control preferred.

Assignment Details

• Night schedule, 3x12 shifts per week.

Impacting Patient Care

As a respiratory therapist in this role you will deliver evidence-based respiratory care that supports patient recovery and safety. Responsibilities include ventilator management, procedural assistance (bronchoscopy, chest tube care, tracheostomy care), monitoring by oximetry and capnography, performance of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, and accurate documentation of care. You will communicate clinical findings with physicians and interdisciplinary team members during handoff and rounds.
