We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Wyandotte, MI where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The role includes providing intensive respiratory care, performing respiratory procedures and testing, operating ventilatory equipment, and coordinating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes. Candidates must be able to work with adult and pediatric patients as required by unit assignment and follow facility policies for respiratory care and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current Michigan state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Minimum one year of experience as an RRT in an acute care hospital setting preferred; experience with ventilator management required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required prior to hire (client specific requirement).
• Experience with arterial blood gas sampling, oximetry, capnography, 12‑lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Ability to perform suctioning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube management, and assist with bronchoscopy and chest tube procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with a variety of mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation systems.
• Prior experience in critical care, trauma, or progressive care units.
• Familiarity with pulmonary function testing and laboratory specimen handling in hospitals with moderate complexity labs.

Assignment Details

• Night shift on a 4x12 schedule.
• Floating to other facilities may be required.
