Description
Join a fast-paced hospital team in Winchester, VA where your expertise as a Radiation Therapist will directly impact lives. From administering targeted treatments to collaborating with oncology professionals, you will play a vital role in helping patients fight cancer with confidence and compassion. Responsibilities include providing daily care of cancer patients, interpreting and delivering radiation treatments per physician prescriptions, performing simulations, assisting with treatment planning and dosimetry, participating in brachytherapy procedures, and providing clinical instruction as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Valid VA state Radiation Therapy license or acceptable VA temporary license with pending full VA license. Include VA license or license status with application.
• BLS (AHA only) certification.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Experience with treatment planning tasks including tumor localization and dosimetry.
• Ability to perform simulations, set up IMRT and 3-D patients in CT, and prepare immobilization devices for 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT treatments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience assisting in brachytherapy procedures.
• Experience working with physicists and dosimetrists and documenting dosimetry calculations.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
Assignment Details
- Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36.
- EMR: EPIC.

Impacting Patient Care
Your role will ensure accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments and contribute to patient safety. You will verify prescriptions, maintain patient identification and markings, monitor patients during treatment, reinforce physician recommendations for care of irradiated areas, and document treatments and doses precisely. You will act as a liaison with physicians, nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, and supportive care staff to coordinate care and escalate concerns as needed.
