We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Akron, OH where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. This role supports an all-adult, acute care Level I trauma center and involves performing respiratory/pulmonary procedures, responding to emergencies, and participating in patient care teams and quality improvement efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Must be Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. Candidates with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential considered if registry eligible and experienced. (Preferred status must be clear to the reader.)
• Minimum 2+ years recent clinical respiratory care experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience with mechanical ventilators and respiratory devices, including PB 980, PB 840, V60, Epoc handheld analyzer, and ParaPacPlus transport ventilator.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• May be required to return to orientation or credentialing within 5 days maximum (RTO allowance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Level I trauma center or high-acuity adult acute care environment.
• Participation in quality improvement programs and interdisciplinary patient care teams.
• Experience providing education to patients, families, students, and other healthcare professionals.
