RN Critical Care Float Pool, Travel Contract, Nights, 3X12, Muskogee, OK - 13 weeks - 466

ASAP Start

Shift: Nights, flexible on nights, must be available every other weekend, 1845 - 0715

Must Have: Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Experience, willingness to float, NIHSS Certification, ACLS, BLS certified through AHA, EPIC EMR

Nice to Have: CRRT, Swan-Ganz Catheter

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.

Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process in caring for assigned patients

• Completes assessment and individualizes plan of care within established unit/nursing guidelines

• Carries out nursing care considering cultural, psychosocial factors, and patient age

• Organizes, prioritizes, and performs nursing skills appropriate for patient population

• Anticipates patient/unit needs

• Demonstrates sound knowledge base: Bio-psychosocial

• Delegates and communicates effectively and appropriately

• Demonstrates professional judgment in response to changing patient/unit situations

• Documents steps of the nursing process/care accurately

• Records data concisely, consistently, accurately, and legibly

• Utilizes correct medical terminology abbreviations

• Addresses problems and progress toward outcomes according to unit/nursing policy

• Facilitates patient teaching and discharge planning

• Makes timely, appropriate referrals

• Utilizes resources in planning and presenting patient education

• Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate

• Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities

• Attends mandatory in-services and meets unit education standards

• Accurately completes variance reports

• Uses independent judgment in planning and decision-making

• Works directly with patients, customers, healthcare professionals, and staff

Required Skills & Experience:

• Traveler must have Cardiac ICU experience

• Experience handling high-acuity cardiac devices and invasive cardiac monitoring through Swan-Ganz

• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care RN Experience

• EPIC experience

• Working knowledge of disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways

• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

• Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently

• Detail-oriented in examination of clinical and numerical data

Required Education:

• Completion of basic professional nursing curriculum approved and verified by a state board of nursing

• Holds or is entitled to hold a nursing diploma or degree

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
