Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist - Travel Contract | Tulsa, OK

Position Details

  • Location: Tulsa, OK

  • Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Employment Type: Travel Contract

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

  • Shift: Day Shift, 5 days per week

  • Holiday Availability: Applicants must be available to work over the holidays.

  • On-Call: Must be available for after-hours on-call rotation.

Required Experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred for the assignment.

  • At least 1 year of previous travel experience required.

  • Experience performing advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and apply critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong communication skills when reporting findings to physicians, surgeons, and healthcare staff.

Job Summary

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound examinations, obtains accurate cardiac images and measurements, and provides preliminary findings to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. The technologist also supports complex procedures in the OR, hybrid lab, cath lab, and other procedural settings to help minimize associated risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently.

  • Conduct adult and/or pediatric cardiac studies, including TEE and stress echocardiography, as applicable to competency.

  • Review patient records and relevant clinical information before procedures.

  • Operate ultrasound equipment and related imaging systems to obtain optimal diagnostic images.

  • Recognize abnormal or critical findings and promptly notify the appropriate physician.

  • Assist physicians during complex procedures, including TAVR, SAVR, TandemHeart, LARIAT, and pseudoaneurysm compression.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in patient charts, departmental tracking systems, and procedural records.

  • Ensure accurate processing of charges and related clinical data.

  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and an efficient workflow.

  • Participate in quality assurance, educational activities, and accreditation processes.

  • Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, patient-safety practices, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Education

  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound certification program.

Required Certifications and Licensure

Candidates must hold one of the following credentials:

  • ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

  • CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).

  • BLS: Current Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

  • Commitment to maintaining clinical competency and complying with hospital education requirements.

Protouch Staffing Job ID #PROTOUCHEXT-89808. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
