Job Title: RN (Registered Nurse) - Medsurg Tele Float

Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101-5376

Unit: Medsurg Tele Float - 93
Unit Type: Stepdown

Care Setting: Acute

Shift: 12-Hour Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) - 3 shifts/week
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience

• Med/Surg background required; Stepdown experience preferred

• BLS and ACLS required (AHA)

• BSN not required

• Charting system: EPIC

• Must titrate drips in step-down areas (Heparin, Cardizem, nitro, Cardene, insulin, dobutamine, dopamine, Activase, esmolol, lidocaine, labetalol, Primacor, procainamide, Aggrastat, verapamil)

• All submittals must include a driver's license showing current permanent address

Patient Population:
Cardiac, ortho/neuro, surgical, and medical patients - varies by unit.

Float Requirements:
Floats across all inpatient units based on competency, including ICU, Stepdown, and Med/Surg.

Unit Support:

• Free-standing charge nurse, day shift, Monday-Friday

• House supervisor on-site 24/7

• PCT/nursing aide support on unit

• 9 RNs currently in the float pool, plus a robust PCT float pool

• Daily assignments given by calling the staffing office

Telemetry: Yes - unit has monitor techs; CVU reads its own strips

Respiratory Equipment: CPAP/BiPAP available on all units; vents in ICU; chronic trach vents may go to Stepdown

Orientation: 3-4 shifts, unit-specific

Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
