Position Overview

Protouch Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care / Stepdown assignment at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

The selected RN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit and will work across both the 3E and 3W units. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced PCU/SPCU nurse who is comfortable managing a 4:1 patient ratio in a 36-bed unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to progressive care and stepdown patients.

  • Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention.

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with facility protocols.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR.

  • Deliver safe, patient-centered care across the 3E and 3W units.

  • Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Active RN license valid for the assignment location.

  • Minimum 2 years of SPCU/Progressive Care or Stepdown nursing experience.

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.

  • Current BLS certification required.

  • Current ACLS certification required.

  • NIHSS certification required.

  • Epic EMR experience preferred.
