Opportunity:

Med/Surge Nurses

Job Details:

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, and through IV, and record prescribed medications
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments according to policy
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients
• Interpret and record electronic displays
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education
• May be responsible for taking care of pediatric/adolescent patients on occasion
• May need to float between Lander and Riverton campuses depending on facility census
• Must have 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS & PALS (must be through American Heart Association)
• Must have WY RN or multi-state RN license

This healthcare organization operates multiple hospital campuses providing comprehensive medical and surgical services to the community. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes modern equipment and technology to support diverse medical needs. The organization does not have a dedicated pediatrics unit, so nurses may occasionally care for pediatric and adolescent patients within the general medical/surgical units.
