Opportunity:

RN - NVICU

Job Details:

• Work in 16-bed Neurological/Vascular Intensive Care Unit
• Patient ratios: 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Minimum weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Schedule is done in 4-week increments with self-scheduling available to an extent
• Contract labor is first to float, expected to float to med/surg when needed
• Work with ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000 equipment
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Unit secretary staffed during dayshift with occasional nurse extern working as tech
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Active RN license required
• ICU experience required
• Procedures performed include insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, EVD insertions
• Navy scrubs required (tops and bottoms)
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
