Opportunity:

Labor & Delivery RN

Job Details:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment
• High risk experience strongly preferred with 5 years but will consider 3+ years with high risk experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
• Float required to Post partum/Antepartum and may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby
• Must function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to post partum
• Required to circulate for C-sections
• Must provide newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Experience with heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate therapy required
• Epic charting system experience required - hard stop
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Must be able to work in high risk/high volume Labor & Delivery environment
• Patient ratio experience of 1-2 patients
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Must pass clinical review - no exceptions
• Current supervisory references required
• Proof of current Nursys required with submission

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms, handling 500-600 deliveries per month with an average daily census of 15 patients. The facility provides comprehensive maternal and neonatal care services including midwifery clients, private OB services, and adult recovery services supporting substance recovery. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing and maintains interdisciplinary support services including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy support.
