Opportunity:

Oncology Nursing Position

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Care for adult to geriatric patient population with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Required certifications: BLS and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• Work with oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/comfort care, and oncologic emergencies
• Handle chemotherapy precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Use Epic charting system (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Work every other weekend with maximum 7 days requested time off
• Floating required within facility and possibly to Piedmont Augusta Summerville (3 miles away)
• No call requirements
• Holiday work expectations based on number of major holidays during assignment period
• 24-hour orientation with modules completed during non-billable time
• Skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chemotherapy administration, central line care, and neutropenic precautions
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Full compliance required with documents due Tuesday prior to start date

This healthcare facility operates a 19-bed oncology unit with an average daily census of 15 patients. The facility provides comprehensive oncology and hematology services with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and offers specialized equipment and resources for oncology patients requiring complex medical interventions.
