Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
• Work in high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery unit with 500-600 deliveries per month
• 3-5 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment
• Must have current supervisory references and proof of required certifications
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to postpartum/antepartum units and may float to sister facilities for mother/baby care
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• One pre-approved time off per contract (case by case basis)
• Must function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Required to circulate for C-sections
• Provide newborn care including eye care, Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments
• Work with high-risk patients including midwifery clients, private OBs, and Adult Recovery Services
• Handle average daily census of 15 patients with 31 rooms and 31 beds
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Must be proficient with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring system
• Experience with medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Non-billable modules averaging 16 hours must be completed pre-start and annually

This healthcare facility operates a high-volume labor and delivery unit with 4 operating rooms, providing comprehensive obstetrical services for high-risk pregnancies. The facility follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The organization serves diverse patient populations including midwifery clients, private obstetrical patients, and those requiring specialized care through Adult Recovery Services.
