Opportunity:
ICU Float
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule
• Must float within Zone 1 covering a 60-mile radius around Colorado Springs, CO
• Float between multiple facilities including Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• May float to any acuity level including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele units
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 dependent on acuity, may flex up to 1:3
• 1:1 ratios for high acuity patients requiring CRRT, IABP, Impella, etc.
• Must have 2 years of ICU experience minimum
• First-time travelers need 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience
• Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Required to read and interpret own telemetry strips
• Expected to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs
• 1-2 day orientation with preceptor
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Schedule made by leadership for 6 weeks at a time with flexibility required
• May be asked to work holidays and rare call shifts for low census
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

The organization maintains high standards for critical care with dedicated charge nurses and specialized equipment for high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and interventions.
