Unit Notes
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Strict 75-mile radius restriction for housing
• Work in a 20-bed unit with 2:1 patient ratio, though 1:1 ratios are common for higher acuity patients
• Care for diverse patient population including neuro patients with brain drains and herniation
• Manage ortho trauma patients requiring traction
• Work with cardiovascular devices such as balloon pumps, impellas, and ekos
• Provide post-operative care for open-heart CABG patients
• Handle open abdomen cases from OR that may require bedside re-opening
• Participate in upcoming ECMO program launching this summer
• Operate CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) at bedside for renal patients
• Receive specialized training for advanced medical devices
• Provide care for medical ICU patients when sister units are at capacity
• Experience in ICUs or STICUs in level 1-2 trauma centers required
• Use MEDITECH charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• BSN degree not required
• Cancellation policy allows 12 hours every 2 weeks
