Opportunity:
ICU Float
Job Details:
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance following one of two formats: Option A - scheduled at a single facility for the week with floating within that facility if needed; Option B (Just-In-Time) - facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call
• No home base facility - must live within 60 miles of each facility in Zone 3
• Must float within Zone 3 (based around Denver City Center): OrthoColorado Hospital (Lakewood, CO), Longmont United Hospital (Longmont, CO), St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood, CO), and St. Anthony North Hospital (Westminster, CO)
• May be asked to float into any other acuity level including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 dependent on acuity; may be asked to flex up to 1:3; 1:1 for high acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Must be comfortable titrating all critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, and more
• Must be able to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and breathing treatments
• Required to read and interpret own telemetry strips - no monitor tech on unit
• Work in combination ICU environment including MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, and others
• Must have 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience
• Travel experience preferred
• Scrub color: any color
• 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Charting system: Epic
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

This position supports a network of acute care facilities across Zone 3 centered around the Denver metropolitan area. The facilities include orthopedic, general acute care, and community hospital settings spanning a 60-mile radius. Each facility maintains dedicated ICU units with respiratory therapy support, designated charge nurses, and a focus on high-acuity critical care patients.
