Opportunity:

MICU Position

Job Details:

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with 31 beds
• Patient ratios of 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Minimum weekend requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Schedule is done in 4-week increments with self-scheduling to an extent
• Contract labor is first to float, particularly to med/surg units when needed
• Work with specialized equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Unit secretary staffed during day shift with occasional nurse extern working as tech
• Assist with procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have active RN license and ICU experience
• Required uniform: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
