Opportunity:
Occupational Therapist - Inpatient and Outpatient
Job Details:
• Work 8-hour day shifts
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy services
• Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation and standardized assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train patients in its use
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for daily living
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress reports in EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care
• 2 years acute care experience preferred for higher-acuity units (ICU, trauma, neuro)
• Experience with ADLs and mobility training required
• Knowledge of hospital equipment such as lifts, splints, and adaptive devices
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from ACOTE-accredited program required
• Must pass NBCOT exam and hold OTR certification
• New Mexico OT license required
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities essential
• Knowledge of human anatomy, psychology, and therapeutic techniques required
