Opportunity:

Occupational Therapist - Inpatient/Outpatient

Job Details:

• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• Inpatient caseload accounts for 20% and outpatient caseload accounts for 80% of workload
• Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities through observation and standardized assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional skills
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train patients in its use
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for daily living
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and progress reports in EMR systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure coordinated care
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
• Participate in professional development through educational programs, in-services, meetings, and workshops
• 2 years of acute care experience preferred, particularly in higher-acuity units such as ICU, trauma, or neuro
• Experience with ADLs and mobility training required
• Knowledge of hospital equipment such as lifts, splints, and adaptive devices required
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program required
• Completion of supervised fieldwork (Level I & Level II) required
• Must have passed the NBCOT exam to hold OTR designation
• New Mexico Occupational Therapy license required
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills required
