Opportunity:

ICU/Med Surg Float Pool RN

Job Details:

• Work every third weekend schedule
• 36-48 hours per week with overtime billable after 40 hours (36-40 hrs/week) or after 48 hours (48 hrs/week)
• Float between ICU, stepdown, and Med Surg units as needed
• ICU patient ratio 1:2, sometimes 1:3 depending on overflow
• Med Surg patient ratio 1:5
• Must be comfortable caring for 3-5 patients
• Care for various patient types including ventilated patients, BiPAP, Airvo, bariatric surgery, general surgery, orthopedic, and general medical surgical patients
• Manage various drips including propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Work with EPIC electronic medical record system
• 24 months of recent/current ICU experience required
• Med Surg experience strongly encouraged
• Current/recent travel experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• NIHSS certificate preferred (can obtain during onboarding)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months required
• Holiday and overtime multipliers apply (1.15x for holidays, 1.5x for callback with 2-hour minimum)
• Charge/precepting differential available

This healthcare facility features a 5-bed ICU with 3 stepdown beds and a 23-bed Med Surg unit. The facility provides comprehensive care for critically ill patients requiring ventilator support, specialty drips, and post-surgical care including bariatric and orthopedic procedures. The organization utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and maintains modern critical care capabilities with experienced nursing staff providing quality patient care across multiple specialty areas.
