Opportunity:
Department: MedSurg Neuro Ortho | RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required based on facility needs
• 34-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 on night shift
• Care for patients with strokes, spines, traumatic brain injuries, altered mental status, total joints, external fixation and fractures
• Stroke and neuro experience required; total joint experience preferred
• Strong candidate with neuro and ortho experience with travel experience highly preferred for night shifts
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred
• Basic understanding of cardiac strip interpretation and lethal rhythms required
• Float requirements within skill set to other med surg units, ICU as resource, ER for holds, or various units as sitter
• Teamwork essential with emphasis on bedside report and hourly rounding
• Professional colored scrubs required; no tattoos above shoulders visible, only nose stud facial piercing allowed, natural hair colors only
• 2 twelve-hour orientation shifts required
• EPIC charting system
• 50-mile radius restriction for local candidates
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation during first work week
• BSN not required
