Opportunity:
Department: Float Pool | RN
Job Details:
• Work as part of the ICU Float Pool with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Float between multiple units across three facilities: Boise, Meridian, and Nampa
• Float to ER, ICU, MedSurg, Tele, L&D/PP, and NICU units based on specialty
• Will only float within your specialty area and never to lower acuity units
• May float mid-shift to different units and facilities whenever there is need
• Receive unit assignment via app one hour before shift starts
• All hospitals are approximately 20 minutes apart and located right off the interstate
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: ER 1:4, ICU 1:1-2, MedSurg 1:5, Tele 1:4, Peds 1:3, NICU 1:4
• Required to titrate drips in ICU, ER, Tele, MedSurg, and PICU
• Must read and interpret telemetry/monitors in ICU, ER, Tele, and PICU
• Charge nurse present on all units with float pool leadership available 24/7
• Nurse aids and patient care techs available with ratios ranging from 1:8-10
• No self-scheduling available, block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed
• No call or standby requirements
• Professional dress code required with no specific scrub color requirements
• Three shifts of inpatient orientation provided after meet and greet on day one
• Must have 2 years experience in specialty and previous travel experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• EPIC charting system used
• BSN not required
• Must live outside 50-mile radius from facility

This healthcare system operates three acute care facilities providing comprehensive medical services across multiple specialties. The organization features emergency departments, intensive care units, medical-surgical units, telemetry units, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal intensive care units. The system maintains high patient care standards with dedicated leadership support, including seven assistant managers available around the clock and specialized float pool management to ensure optimal staffing and patient outcomes.
