Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

• Work day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No call or standby requirements
• Float to postpartum and other units as needed
• First to float when staffing adjustments are required
• 3-day unit orientation for travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Must be independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement
• Experience with high-risk laboring/delivery patients and antepartum patients required
• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Required to titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Must be able to effectively read fetal monitor strips
• Follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: 2:1 normal laboring moms, 1:1 high-risk labors, 4:1 couplet care
• Use Cerner charting system and EFM system
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, light blue OR scrubs available
• BSN not required
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This Level 3 high-risk facility features a comprehensive labor and delivery unit with 17 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds. The facility handles approximately 250 births monthly and maintains 24/7 OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia coverage. The unit is supported by certified surgical techs and secretaries, with respiratory equipment available as needed and ICU support for patients requiring artificial ventilation.
