Opportunity:
Med Surg ICU RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Interview with unit leaders required
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score or contract will be terminated
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will lead to contract termination
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
• 34-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU patients
• Care for adults and pediatric patients over 15 years old
• Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, and post-surgical patients
• Required to titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Draeger monitoring system
• Work with equipment including ventilators, CVPs, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ICP monitoring
• Float to all inpatient units except Maternity/NICU
• Every other weekend requirement and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Use EPIC charting system
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
