Opportunity:

RN - Operating Room

Job Details:

• 8-hour shifts with rotating schedule through the following shift times: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend coverage and call are voluntary
• Minimum 2 years of prior Operating Room experience required
• BSN preferred; completion of an accredited registered nurse program required
• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required, renewed every two years
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required, renewed every two years
• Provide professional perioperative nursing care following AORN Standards and Recommended Practice for Perioperative Nursing
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on ongoing patient assessment in the holding area, operative suite, and post-operative setting
• Ensure supplies and equipment for surgical patient care are readily available and functional
• Maintain sterile field throughout procedures based on principles of asepsis
• Apply principles of aseptic technique, surgical technique, electrical, chemical, and laser safety, patient positioning, and patient care management
• Recognize changes in patient health status and direct appropriate care to ensure patient safety
• Care for patients across the full age spectrum from pediatric through geriatric populations
• Document individualized changes in plan of care and patient interactions appropriately
• Demonstrate proper care and disposition of surgical specimens, cultures, and foreign bodies
• Effectively function as a team member and liaison between patient and staff
• Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills required
