Opportunity:
CVU RN - Cardiovascular Unit
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 18-bed cardiovascular unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios, 1:3 for post-surgical patients in first 24 hours
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year experience with cardiovascular patient population required
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score to continue
• Care for patients requiring intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients
• Support thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart procedures
• Common diagnoses include Cath Lab patients, CVAs, CHF, A-fib RVR, and cardiac/vascular related conditions
• Titrate multiple drips including Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and blood pressure management medications
• Read and interpret telemetry strips with remote tele tech support
• Float to same level and lower acuity units as needed
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Epic charting system used
• 1-2 shifts unit-specific orientation tailored to experience level
